In episode eight, we talked to Adrienne Hughes-Jackson and Brittany Hughes, founders of Nzuri Body Essentials. What started with a body cream (that has now become their popular Body Souffle) has turned into a luxury brand of organic, handmade skincare products.

Adrienne left a 30-year career in intellectual property to pursue something that fulfilled her. Nzuri means ‘beautiful’ in Swahili. As two African American entrepreneurs, Adrienne and Brittany wanted to create products that would make all of their customers feel beautiful and pampered.

During this episode, we discussed the natural ingredients they use in their products, including a rare and expensive African oil from the baobab tree. We also had an honest and real discussion on how Adrienne and Brittany navigate through the skincare space as black women while creating an inclusive space for each of their consumers.
